The Oldham Coliseum Theatre in Greater Manchester first opened in 1887 as the "Colosseum". It was constructed of an 1885 wooden circus building and later rebuilt in masonry. In the 20th century it was a music hall and briefly a cinema before reverting to a repertory theatre. It was originally built to be the permanent home for Myer's Grand American Hippodrome.
