This production began with the original New York cast with the exception of Cliff Gorman, who had played the role of Emory. He was replaced by Tom Aldredge for this production. While the rest of the cast went to London, Gorman went to open the first West Coast production in Los Angeles. Due to equity contracts the American cast was only allowed to perform in London for three months. Their last performance was on May 10 and they returned to New York for filming of the movie adaptation. A primary British cast took over for the rest of the run.
