Description

The original theater at this location, the Woods Theater, was built in 1918 by theatrical producer Albert H. Woods, by architectural firm Marshall & Fox. The original theater was demolished in 1989 and the lot remained empty until the new Goodman Theatre complex was developed. The lot that was the Woods Theater, as well as a smaller portion of what was once the neighboring Garrick Theater lot, became the larger modern Albert Ivar Goodman Theatre
