George Bing, 21, of 1706 Cleveland avenue, crashed through a skylight on the roof of the arcade of the Lafayette theater at 533 Baronne street Friday morning and plunged 40 feet to the pavement of the arcade. A number of pedestrians were standing within a few feet of the point where Bing fell. Mr. Bing and his brother, Melvin Bing, of the same address, were doing some repair work on the roof of the arcade when George Bing missed his footing and plunged through the sky light. The injured man was rushed to Charity hospital in an unconscious condition. He remained unconscious and his condition was undetermined. George Bing died in Charity hospital at 11:40 without regaining consciousness. Death was pronounced due to fracture of the skull and other injuries.
